NHA St Albans District NewsletterJune 2026Community, Connection and Care Across Our DistrictDear Members, Coordinators, Volunteers and Friends, What a lovely month it has been for NHA St Albans District. Our district continues to grow, and that is because of the kindness, energy and support of people like you. Neighbourhood Watch is about much more than crime prevention. It is about people looking out for one another, building trust, sharing information and creating safer, friendlier communities. There is so much we can do together — and we are only just getting started. A Special Thank You to Ian WhiteThis month, we are very pleased to share the Mayor’s kind words recognising Ian White and his outstanding contribution to Neighbourhood Watch and community service in St Albans. The Right Worshipful the Mayor of the City and District of St Albans, Councillor Matt Fisher, recognised Ian’s many years of dedication, leadership and commitment to the community. Ian has been a true champion of Neighbourhood Watch in St Albans. His work has helped strengthen community spirit, support safer neighbourhoods and bring people together. On behalf of NHA St Albans District, we would like to say a heartfelt thank you to Ian for his service, commitment and lasting contribution. Stay Cool and Well This SummerWith the very hot weather, please remember to look after yourself, your family and your neighbours. A few simple Ayurvedic summer reminders: Drink plenty of water and coconut water. Please also check in on anyone who may be more vulnerable in the heat, especially older neighbours or people living alone. Keep calm, stay cool and listen to your body. Stay Fit, Healthy and ConnectedGetting out for a walk is one of the simplest ways to support both physical and mental wellbeing. Hertfordshire Health Walks are running free walks across St Albans City and District from May to August 2026. These walks are led by friendly, trained volunteers and are a lovely way to enjoy our local green spaces, meet others and stay active. Walks include areas such as Highfield Park, Harpenden, Verulamium Park, Batchwood Hall, Wheathampstead, Nomansland Common, Greenwood Park, Redbourn and Bricket Wood. All walks are free, but walkers need to register first. You can register online or arrive 15 minutes early to complete a form. Contact Hertfordshire Health Walks: Could You Be a Local Coordinator? We are still looking for coordinators in the following areas: Colney Heath Would you like to serve and support your local area?
